Human Trafficking

"Judging by news headlines, human trafficking is a recent phenomenon. In fact, the coerced movement of people across borders is as old as the laws of supply and demand. What is new is the volume of the traffic-and the realization that we have done little to stem the tide" (Feingold).

"Girls and boys, women and men of all ages are forced to toil in the rug loom sheds of Nepal, sell their bodies in the brothels of Rome, break rocks in the quarries of Pakistan, and fight wars in the jungles of Africa" (Batstone 1).

Notes From the Creator

This website was created as part of my Senior Graduation Project and designed for the purpose of raising awareness and educating the public. I am currently a senior at Upper Merion Area High School, researching Human Trafficking. My interest in this topic aroused simply after watching a documentary about this human crisis. Given the Senior Graduation Project, I decided to extend my knowledge about this illegal business. As I extend my knowledge, I would like to share my research and experience with others in the hopes that more people become aware of the immediate recognition human trafficking desperately needs. I would like to thank Virginia Holmstrom, Executive Director for American Baptist Women's Minitries, for providing me with aid and support throughout my project.
